– MAP Fund

ARTIST RELIEF: To support artists during the COVID-19 crisis, MAP Fund has joined a coalition of national arts grantmakers to create an emergency initiative to offer financial and informational resources to artists across the United States.

The coalition includes Academy of American Poets, Artadia, Creative Capital, Foundation for Contemporary Arts, MAP Fund, National YoungArts Foundation, and United States Artists.

Artist Relief will distribute $5,000 grants to artists facing dire financial emergencies due to COVID-19; serve as an ongoing informational resource; and co-launch the COVID-19 Impact Survey for Artists and Creative Workers, designed by Americans for the Arts, to better identify and address the needs of artists.

As an additional resource during the COVID-19 pandemic, MAP Fund staff have collected a select list of resources for funding and other avenues of support at this link. Resources will be updated continually. Above all, we recommend starting with the CDC’s guidelines to minimize your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

Through project grants and artists services, the MAP Fund supports contemporary artists, of all abilities and backgrounds, whose work challenges canon and convention and, by extension, ableist, cis, hetero-normative, Western cultural dominance.

MAP invests in artistic production as the critical foundation of imagining, and ultimately co-creating, a more equitable and vibrant society.
