Round One Checklist

Prepping content for Round One of the 2017 MAP Fund Application? Refer to this checklist to make sure you have everything you need.

  • (Section 2 of 5) Project Information
    • Project title
    • Project description (500 word limit)
    • Anticipated premiere date (month / year)
    • Reviewer selection: Who might best understand and speak to your application? You must check at least one discipline.
      • Dance/performance specialists
      • Music/performance specialists
      • Theater/performance specialists
    • Optional: If you would like to specify any aesthetic frameworks that are informing this project, please briefly name them here (25 word limit)
  • (Section 3 of 5) Confirmed Lead Artist(s) / Ensemble(s) & Creative Team
    • Confirmed Lead Artist(s) / Ensemble(s)
      • Name of each confirmed lead artist or ensemble
      • Email for each confirmed lead artist or ensemble
      • Brief bio for each confirmed lead artist or ensemble (submit a link to an existing online bio or provide text up to 200 words)
    •  Creative Team (generative artists, community members, and key support staff)
      • Names, role(s) in this project, link to an online bio if available, and note if a relationship has been initiated at the time of proposal for each member of the creative team
      • Examples:
        • Artist Name, Composer, NA, confirmed participant
        • Artist Name, Choreographer & Lighting Designer,, inviting his participation in February 2017
        • Producer Name, Independent Producer,, contract runs from July 2016 – July 2018
        • Executive Director Name, Executive Director of Community Organization,, in the process of researching potential partners through August 2016. Mx. Money is ideal if available
  • (Section 4 of 5) Work Samples
  • You must include two samples of prior work, not the proposed project.
    • For audio / video samples:
      • Each sample should be no longer than 5 minutes in length and no less than 2 minutes. You are welcome to submit full-length samples, but please provide specific cue points for reviewers. If you do not indicate a cue point, they will watch or listen to the first 2 minutes of the material.
    •  For written samples:
      • Please upload a script, text or libretto sample and select ten pages you would like the reviewers to read. If you do not indicate a specific section, the reviewers will read the first ten pages of the material. We do not recommend submitting more than one written sample.
    •  All sample types must include:
      • Title of each work sample
      • Year each work sample was created
      • Name(s) of artist(s) whose work is reflected in each sample
      • Short description that connects each sample to the proposed work (100 word limit)
      • Cue Points or page selections as needed if you choose to upload full-length samples
      • An uploaded file of the work sample or a URL link to the work sample with passwords as needed
        • Accepted file types include: pdf, docx, doc, mp3, m4a, wav, mp4, mov
  • (Section 5 of 5) Work-in-progress of the proposed project
  • Note that this section is not required. You may choose to include one informal, work-in-progress sample of the proposed project.
    • Please follow the same instructions from Section 4.

After you hit submit, you will not have another opportunity to make changes to your Round One submission. You will receive an automated confirmation email for your records.

Ineligible applicants will be notified by November 18, 2016.

MAP staff will email results notifications to all eligible applicants by January 4, 2017. If you do not receive any notification by January 4, 2017, please check you junk and spam email folders.
